MASS^® frying-oil refining adsorbent is a mesoporous silica-based composite of calcium and magnesium silicates. This safe, efficient, food-grade powder offers excellent flowability, a very large surface area, a well-suited mesoporous structure, and highly selective adsorption. The mesoporous silica captures free fatty acids, while active calcium-magnesium silicates adsorb polar compounds produced as oil degrades. Filtration then removes these substances from the oil. The product complies with China’s GB 26687 standard for food additives and with applicable EEC, JECF, CAC, EU, FDA, JECFA, and NSF standards. It is widely used in food-industry filtration and purification processes in China and overseas.
